Jack Lilienthal Discusses Alternative Energy at Junto Meeting
Jack Lilienthal, a consultant with TriComB2B, led a presentation on the topic of alternative energy at Friday’s meeting of the Dayton Chapter of Junto. Approximately 20 community and business leaders from across the region attended the meeting at the Dayton Country Club.
Lilienthal, who has conducted extensive alternative energy research related to the marketing of products and services of major industrial manufacturers, explained the current status of wind, solar, geothermal and ocean thermal energy conversion. He noted how these realistically fit into the provision of today’s and future power needs in terms of energy density, power density, scale and scope.
During the question and answer session, Lilienthal also discussed how projected future power needs will be met by increasing the use of natural gas as a replacement for coal. He addressed the growth of nuclear power, especially in smaller scale pre-packaged nuclear units to augment alternative power generation sites and to replace obsolete fossil fuel units within power stations.
Junto is an organization originally founded by Ben Franklin in 1727 where members share their ideas and business experiences.
