What Is the “Trusted Identity”?

There has been a lot of talk about a plan to create a personal Internet identification login, officially being called the “Trusted Identity.” At this point details are very hard to come by, and the plan itself is still very vague. I would like to briefly outline the details of the program in a neutral way and encourage everyone to keep an eye on it as the plans become more concrete and accessible.

To Mobile App or Not to Mobile App

That is the question, and oftentimes it shouldn’t be. I recently read a couple of articles passed along by my co-worker, Jesse Gifford, listing reasons why mobile applications are overrated in the “web versus mobile” wars. They are great articles, but I was amazed to see that neither really covered how unnecessary a mobile app is most of the time. You can read them here:

Disaster recovery is the process and practice of ensuring that your technical infrastructure is backed up in a way that can be restored should disaster occur. None of us plan on dying tomorrow, but odds are you have life insurance and nobody will question why. Think of a disaster recovery plan to be life insurance for your company’s technology. Simply put, you will wish you had something in place when you need it. Recent weather and natural disasters should be the perfect reminder to all of us that things can happen without warning.

By now, most companies have a website. However, many companies have websites that are subpar for a variety of reasons. Maybe the presentation and organization of information is cluttered, confusing or nonexistent. Maybe the design and functionality are dated. Maybe the content on the website hasn’t been updated since the company opened years ago. The Internet is the largest medium for company research. Does your website leave your customers wanting more, or is it chasing them away?

First off, what is a content management system (CMS)?

A CMS is an application that allows for an organized and collaborative approach to create and edit the content and data on a Web site. It also keeps your data and content completely separate from your Web site. Now, what does this mean to you and your business?
